About Los Vaqueros

The Los Vaqueros Watershed consists of 18,500 acres of protected watershed land surrounding the 1,900-acre Los Vaqueros Reservoir, with a capacity of 160,000 acre-feet of water. The primary purpose of the Los Vaqueros Reservoir is to improve drinking water quality for more than 500,000 Contra Costa Water District customers in central and eastern Contra Costa County.

The watershed is available for recreation year-round.
